Busy busy BUSY but fun week! After I got off of my two night shifts we headed to Mom’s and on the way we stopped to visit GG. It’s been far too long and I could come up with a million excuses, but we enjoy the visits we do have! Unfortunately Ethan wouldn’t sit still and clearly Braden was too busy to enjoy a picture too!
Oh I love this picture so much! The weather has been gorgeous and we decided to beat the heat at a spray park with Poppy! At this point we were about to leave and Ethan was DONE! Figured I’d better snap a few pics first!
I had a Zulily goodie come in—a sun tea jar—so I made my first batch and it was good! I’m more of an iced tea fan vs. sweet tea because it’s what I grew up with. Sweet tea/sun tea is very refreshing though and was nice for a change. Farmer doesn’t approve, but that’s okay!
After my night shift my SIL texted me and asked if we wanted to come over for a hot dog roast. YES. No cooking and fun with family? Even better. Ethan loves the trampoline, can you tell?
As I’ve mentioned before, I love watching storms coming in from the west and with that comes a lot of praying that it won’t bring hail. This storm brought 3/10″ and was a great rain.
Today was our 7th wedding anniversary, you can read more on that here and we celebrated by taking our oldest to the Calgary Stampede. Here is my handsome farmer enjoying some midway food—deep fried cookie dough! Surprisingly (or not?) delicious! This also marks the first time since NOVEMBER that I switched the lens off my camera! I put on my 50mm f/1.8 because it is SO much lighter to carry around!
This is one of those “I wouldn’t have taken this picture if it weren’t for this project” photos. I wanted to get my picture done early in the day so I could upload it, edit it, and schedule my blog post for Friday. Never would bring out my camera otherwise to capture my boys playing like this.
We are in the works of organizing a HUGE halfway through our project giveaway! Right now it is valued at >$500 USD and we are waiting to hear back from a few potential sponsors. If you would like to donate something photography-related to this giveaway please contact me by tomorrow!

Nice! I found another ER nurse who blogs about life…not just being a nurse. Love it! I'm an ER nurse too and blog at A Nurse's Wildflowers. I look forward to reading your posts! 🙂
Fantastic photos!!! "ALMOST" made me want to go down there and tackle the crowds, but then I just made some cheesecake stuffed strawberries and decided I was equal!!! Bwahahahahahahaha!
Can't wait to hear all the deets on your big giveaway!!!
CONGRATS!
I tried deep fried cookie dough at our fair a couple years ago. It was so so good, I was pleasantly surprised.
Great shots, happy weekend Sarah!
Thanks, have a good weekend!
Love your last shot of Ethan and Braden. Great 'in the moment' shot.
