I often ask myself why we live in a part of the world where we only have about 3 (4 months if we’re lucky) of spring/summer weather. Most of June, July, and August are our summer months here in Alberta, lately September has provided summer-like weather, but as soon as October hits it’s guaranteed as of late that we’re going to be getting snow. Ethan was born October 16, 2012 and two weeks later on Halloween it was snowing and -30ºC. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoy our summers around here and make the most of them, even if we’re busy busy busy!
You will find us frequenting spray parks on hot summer days when we need to cool off…
Playing in the pool on the deck on the days when we just want to stay at home…
And enjoying family time together outside!
I am a firm believer in using sunscreen, especially for my kids, and I have been using Aveeno® Baby Sunscreen (SPF 55) since Braden’s first summer as I started off from day 1 using other Aveeno® products with him as I heard such good things about them. I love how this sunscreen is thick and creamy, you can see exactly where it’s going and if you get any on clothing (which is almost inevitable with squirmy children!) it doesn’t stain their clothes. It’s gentle on their skin, they both have mild eczema and it seems to last all day, even when playing in water. It has a very mild scent and helps moisturize their skin as it has oatmeal in it too—bonus!
Disclosure: I was selected to participate in the Aveeno® Baby SunCare Blogger Campaign, I received special perks as being a part of this program, all opinions on this blog are my own.
