Total time
A flavourful broccoli salad full of bacon, sunflower seeds, raisins and red onions with a tangy mayonnaise dressing.
Recipe type: Salad
Serves: 6
  • 3-4 cups finely chopped broccoli
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup raisins (any kind)
  • ½ cup finely chopped red onion
  • ½ cup bacon, cooked & chopped (about 4-5 pieces)
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  1. Start out by frying your bacon and letting it cool when it's nice and crispy.
  2. Wash your broccoli and chop into into really fine pieces for the best texture for this salad.
  3. After you're done chopping the broccoli, your bacon will be cool and you can chop it up into small pieces.
  4. Add broccoli, bacon, sunflower seeds, raisins and chopped red onion into a bowl that it will fit into.
  5. Next, mix up the dressing by adding the sugar, mayonnaise and vinegar together until well blended, a small whisk works well for this.
  6. Pour dressing over salad ingredients, mix well and chill in refrigerator until ready to serve (the longer the better, even make the day before!).
