Italian Sausage Penne Pasta

A hearty Italian sausage penne pasta meal, baked with cheese at the end is a recipe the whole family will love!
Serves: 6-8
  • 1 package hot Italian sausage (I use Johnsonville)
  • 1 jar pasta sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups uncooked penne pasta
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Cook sausages as you please, my favorite method is to broil them in the oven about 10 minutes per side, let them cool down and then cut them up into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Cook pasta until just tender.
  4. Put all the ingredients except the mozza cheese into a large casserole (9x13") dish; stir together.
  5. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Add mozza cheese on top, return to oven uncovered and cook until brown and bubbly.
