Farm Wife Buttermilk Pancakes

Melt-in-your-mouth and easy to make classic buttermilk pancakes!

Serves: 4
  • 1¼ cups buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  1. Heat skillet on medium-heat.
  2. Whisk together buttermilk, egg, and canola oil and set aside.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl combine together the remaining ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and whisk together until combined; let side a minute or two for extra fluffiness.
  5. Drop pancake batter onto heated skillet, approximately ¼ cup - ½ cup, depending on how big you want your pancakes.
  6. Wait until top of pancake is bubbly and bottom is golden brown and flip to cook other side.
  7. Remove from skillet when bottom of pancake is also golden brown.
  8. Serve with butter, syrup, berries - whatever your heart desires! Enjoy!
