I’m not even joking—mama doesn’t need flowers or jewelry, just take me out to an amazing meal that I don’t have to cook! Ever since I celebrated my first Mother’s Day 7 years ago, I really haven’t wanted much. I figured being a mom was present enough for me. However, now that I’m a mom of three busy boys, and on our farm we plant our crops in May and it’s one of the busiest times of the year, I have truly come to appreciate when someone cooks for me or takes the time to plan ahead and take me out to a nice meal.
Unfortunately a lot of farm moms get missed during Mother’s Day, so for the last many years, the farm moms in the family (me, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law) have vowed we aren’t cooking on Mother’s Day. It’s our simple gift to ourselves.
This is a really amazing gift you can give that special mom in your life—take her out to a beautiful Mother’s Day dinner. Food brings us all together and is a baseline for celebrating life. The Keg Steakhouse + Bar has a wonderful Mother’s Day menu available and, of course, all the kids are welcome to enjoy the amazing food and comfortable atmosphere.
I was fortunate enough to be able to celebrate Mother’s Day a bit early with my mother-in-law (my mom lives out of town!) at an amazing dinner at The Keg at their downtown Calgary location. We were greeted with beautiful flowers and I got to meet some bloggers that I’ve “known” for years and we all had a really lovely evening. I had the prime rib and lobster tail and it was absolutely phenomenal.
The ambiance was amazing and the hospitality was phenomenal. I know that The Keg will help make the moms in your life feel so special this Mother’s Day too! So let me say it again to be loud and clear: take the mom(s) in your life out to The Keg for Mother’s Day! It’s such a thoughtful gift and trust me when I say that it truly means so much that we don’t have to cook for ourselves and everyone else on our special day.
