There’s no time like sharing your last baby’s nursery when he’s almost a year old, right? Third baby problems, for sure! His nursery has been done for a long time, the photos were taken a long time ago…I just kinda, sorta forgot to organize them into a blog post. Oops! This post contains a lot of photos and a lot of links to Etsy products.
You might remember a long time ago I posted my nursery inspiration for our third baby. We’ve always been Team Green and the gender reveal is left to the big day, and I’ve always been organized enough to have my boy nursery items and girl nursery items in a virtual shopping cart and ready to go pretty much as soon as baby is born. I was actually REALLY excited when we found out we had our 3rd baby boy, as I absolutely loved the Pinterest board of orange foxes with navy and white chevron accents I found!
I have always had my baby’s names names displayed above their cribs. For Braden and Ethan I purchased or was gifted custom wooden letters to match their nursery themes. However, when your baby has 8 letters in his name…it gets REALLY pricey. I did some looking and I absolutely love the banner I found. She painted the burlap navy so it would stick out better on the beige walls and painted little foxes on the end. It was a much more affordable solution! I just used clear command hooks to hang it on his wall. The fox decal is a gift from my mom, I just chose to not use the name portion that it came with.
This is the first time I haven’t been able to find crib bedding from a store that worked with my theme or that I could build my theme around. I was searching for something affordable and that would fit, and it was when I discovered this amazing minky set from a Canadian shop Little Elska, that I added the navy and white chevron into my theme. I know bumper pads are frowned on by some people, but Jonathan literally never moved from sleeping on his back in one place until he was 9 months old!
I love having personalized art in the nursery and their birth stats are a great piece to have. I went with the Educated Owl again to display Jonathan’s stats, same as for Ethan. I also took another piece from Ethan’s whale nursery and got the same “First we had each other” print, but in foxes, and a matching fox/chevron print from LB Designs.
The only other print I have in his room is this watercolor fox and owl print that my mom gifted him from zulily (it’s on frequently if you care to keep searching). We had a miscarriage right before Jonathan was born and I was going to do our girl nursery in owl theme (for the last 2 babies) and I firmly believe that we miscarried a daughter. This print is very special to me because I feel it’s Jonathan (a fox) snuggling up to the sister (an owl) our boys will never have until they meet again one day.
I have a cheap cube shelf from Sears that I use to store dozens of board books and some toys and puzzles for Jonathan. It also houses a cheap navy lamp from Walmart, one of my most essential must-haves for any baby room – a sound machine – and a new fox Scentsy warmer! It also has a Melissa & Doug Noah’s Ark shape shifter and some vintage Fisher Price toys too. The custom minky blanket on the glider that I’ve had since Braden, is also from Little Elska and matches his crib bedding.
Something that really ties the room together are the custom valances I purchased from Gallery Verde. Floating shelves are from Sears.
Jonathan has received multiple fox stuffies and this one is from his Grandma, I’m not sure where from. Another thing I ALWAYS get my babies is a lovie-sized minky blanket. It doesn’t matter to me if it matches their nursery perfectly, as they have it long after their nursery is gone. I love the woodland pattern I found and on the other side is a beautiful minky swirl with his name and an applique fox from Treasured Minky.
Thanks for touring the nursery! Here are some of my other favourite fox finds to tie into the theme:
- Monthly Fox Stickers – I use for his photos every month
- Wubbanub Fox Pacifier
- 3 Sprouts Fox Storage Bin – I use this as our cloth diaper pail
- Skip Hop Soft Activity Fox
- Travel Activity Fox
- Baby Fox Costume – he wore for Halloween!
- Little Unicorn Forest Friends Muslin Quilt – soooooo soft, I love this brand more than aden+anais
There’s tons of foxy finds out there right now and I’ve gotten a lot of his fox clothes and pajamas from Carter’s, Costco and even Walmart!
