I often wonder what my 2007 wedding would have been like if Pinterest had been around? It would have been nice to have everything visually organized and to have inspiration from other weddings to look at, but we made it through! I was at a wedding last weekend and the bride had a completely Pinterest inspired wedding! Those at the wedding that know I blog could see my eyes light up at the thought of blogging about some of the details of this very thought out wedding.
First, the wedding was at Honeymoon Bay Lodge & Retreat and it was the perfect place for an intimate wedding. The landscaping and the grounds were gorgeous and in the back there is the perfect, private spot for a wedding ceremony.
This wedding was a blogger’s dream! Blue mason jars, burlap, chalkboard, succulents, wood with stenciled letters, white lanterns and wood accents—lovely! It was about 27ºC out for their outdoor ceremony and these fans that they provided were not only cute but very essential! A lot of guests loved the chalkboard itinerary and I thought the homemade wooden signs to the wedding events was a great idea.
My favourite wedding detail was the blue mason flower jars. The flower colours were gorgeous and there’s something about that blue that just makes them pop! They were tied on the aisle chairs at the ceremony and used as centre pieces at the reception.
I really loved for their reception that the head table was just the bride and the groom. It was so intimate to see just them together and I really enjoyed being able to sit with my groomsman husband!
Inside the building on a table were these wedding favour succulent pots which had the guest’s table numbers on them and the succulents were also used on the guys’ boutonnières. Also, I’m pretty sure I’m the only wedding guest that exclaimed: “Oooooh! SUCCULENTS!”
The icing on the cake, was literally the icing on the cake. The bride said on Facebook that this was a Pinterest inspired wedding cake and the 3-tierd pink ombré cake was really neat!
A couple of neat features was a marriage tip jar and they also provided their guests with sparklers for the dance. Something I couldn’t take a picture of was that the couple requested all of their guests to have a photo taken by a designated photographer (not the wedding photographer) and fill out a little survey for their photo guestbook. A very neat idea that I could have definitely seen myself doing!
Biggest congrats to Mark & Gisella, absolutely beautiful wedding!
And hey! A pretty decent picture of us at the wedding!
