Our kids are still fairly young at 4 years old and 19 months old to be trekking out to the wilderness for a week (or even a weekend) of camping. Our first camping adventure happened when Braden was 2.5 years old. We decided to go to a campground that was within an hour of our home in case we wanted to pack up and leave if it wasn’t going well. Braden has always been a really great sleeper, but never had been in a situation like this before and both of my kids are champions with their routine…so I was interested to see how it would go. Summing it up: it was 36ºC with no air conditioning, I was pregnant in my 2nd trimester with Ethan, Braden woke up at 1AM and thought it was time to party, he had a 3 hour nap the next afternoon and we decided to call it a semi-success and just head home after only 1 night!
This year we are looking so forward to trying camping again, but even if we don’t feel like our boys are quite ready yet, we can enjoy some of the best parts of camping like enjoying outdoor cooking and campfires with our family. After a few months of having our awesome SodaStream machine, I truly prefer it to other sparkling drinks. It would be so easy to take along on your outdoor adventures to make fresh drinks whenever you need to. The machine doesn’t need power or batteries, it’s so awesome. It’s also great because you can completely customize not on the flavor, but more or less bubbles, sweet or less sweet and a lot of their syrups have 2/3 less sugar and calories and less carbs than the store-bought brands. Also? Not recycling (or even worse, throwing away) store-bought cans and bottles as so man (up to 800 million bottles!) end up in landfills every year.
I decided to make some orange flavor SodaStreams to a family weiner and marshmallow roast we had. A classic Shirley Temple drink is ginger ale, with a splash of orange juice and a splash of grenadine, garnished with a maraschino cherry. To make a really easy Shirley Temple with your SodaStream just make orange SodaStream and add a splash of grenadine with a maraschino cherry or two if you wish! You could of course use lemon lime or gingerale and add orange juice and grenadine, but this is easy and only two ingredients (less your cherries, of course!).
It was a nice, refreshing drink at the campfire and now that Braden is old enough and asks for special drinks like sparkling beverages, I feel better about giving him a healthier drink not full of sugar compared to other brands.

After I originally left a comment I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now every time a

Perhaps there is a means you can remove me from that service?
Many thanks!
