I know I hear myself saying how important is to take care of yourself and I have blogged about it before too, but how often do we actually do it? I know I don’t make near the effort to do that, but it can also be hard when our busy farming season is upon us now and my husband has been working from about 8:00 in the morning, comes home for supper, and usually heads back to the farm and continues to work until 9 or so for the last few weeks. I’m always with the kids, and I truly love it, but I definitely need some “me” time.
I’ve come to learn the last 4+ years that I’ve been a mom that sometimes my “me” time has to be with the kids, and that’s okay. I just take them and do things that make both them and me happy. While I’d much prefer to go shopping alone, I do my best to enjoy shopping with them. Now that the weather is nicer if I take them to the park I will stop by and grab a coffee or a tea for me while I watch them play. More often than not we’re at home though, and now I can enjoy a delicious sparkling beverage while they play outside and it’s made right at home.
Directions
- Mix together:
- 2 litres SodaStream Cranberry Raspberry
- 1 litre SodaStream Lemon Lime
- 1 can thawed pink lemonade concentrate
- Garnish with raspberries if desired and serve over ice!
I think there’s a lot of truth in the fact that we don’t want to be with our kids every waking minute of the day and we really do need “just me” time too! Try taking just 10 minutes every day for yourself.

My evenings used to be my 'me' time (and they will again in a few months). But right now my only 'me' time is the rare occasion that I get to pee alone haha. And driving, even though the kids are in the vehicle, it's generally quiet & peaceful & I can listen to my music & enjoy it.
Finding time for myself is my biggest struggle. It usually ends up being after the kids go to bed and then I stay up waaaaay too late.
