I’ve been saving my harvest pictures for this month’s Catch the Moment post! See? That’s another great thing about this monthly link up – it also doubles as a big photo dump! You don’t have to get out and take pictures specifically for this link up, gather those pics you haven’t blogged about yet! Anyway, harvest wrapped up this year on September 23 and we had record-breaking (for our farm) wheat crops yielding >80 bushels/acre on some fields. Normal for us is around 40-50 bushels/acre!
*Note: here come the photos…and there’s LOTS! Sorry if this takes a long time to load!
The old garage…
These canola swaths are supposed to be in straight rows…but when wind gusts of >90 km/hr hit two evenings in a row…the canola swaths took a beating and the combines looked like two vacuum cleaners going back and forth up and down trying to clean up all this mess.
This is the wheat field below our house
And just to show you how dry and dusty it was…(right below my house…and eventually inside my house…)
In case you want to see more harvest pictures, I blogged last week here and I have another post coming up for the boys’ annual harvest pics! I sure hope you’ll link up with me and Mindi below! The linky is open for 10 days – no excuses! Plenty of time!
