A Sort Of Sweet, Definitely Boy Mom, Moment!

It was yesterday morning. I was still feeling the tired effects of a very broken night of only 3 hours of sleep when Ethan wasn’t feeling well…so I unthawed some milk and left a bottle in the fridge so Jay could get up with the boys and I could catch some extra sleep.

I mean, Jay is off skiing today…so it only seemed fair he could get up with the boys, right? Well…Jay said that Ethan was almost asleep when the bottle was finished but that he was fussing now. I looked at the monitor and he was wide awake, so I decided to go investigate further.

Sure enough, in true Ethan style, he had spit up already. He didn’t spit enough to warrant a sleep sack and jammie change (yes, there are varying levels of spittiness in this house), so I thought I would top him up and snuggle him to sleep. He nursed for a few short moments, pulled away and looked up at me and smiled. Just like in that picture above with his cute little tongue sticking out.

Then he started cooing at me and having quite the conversation! Consider my heart melted. Until…he pulled the ultimate boy move…

and promptly started to make rumbling, gurgling, farty noises in his diaper and have and enormous poop.

Thanks, son. You truly are a boy. You can go back to sleep now!

I didn’t have these photos edited in time to add to his 3 month update…so I thought they’d look nice in this little story line! :)

Gotta tell you – girl babies are gross too! Audrey does this all the time – I'll be obliviously nursing her, and reading a book or something, and suddenly I'll get that 'being watched' feeling – I'll look down, and she's doing that grinning thing. It ALWAYS makes me laugh, and she'll start cooing and we'll have a little conversation – this is definitely one of my favourite mommy-moments.

My son Harper does that ALL.THE.TIME! He will pull off while nursing and give me the biggest grin, so I think he's just in love with me and adores the milk. Then, he starts squirming, grunting, and LOUDLY passing gas and pooping. Boy…. LOl!
