Just had a little fun using Picnik on a picture taken of us a couple of weeks ago at Brigitte and Brett’s wedding! It is an absolutely gorgeous Halloween day, a Chinook wind is going through and it’s currently +14°C so it should be a great night of trick or treating for the kids. I’m hoping we can break our record of only two trick or treaters from last year! Only Katie and Danika came visiting. We don’t have any big plans this year, I love dressing up for Halloween and don’t worry, I have something planned…you’ll have to check back tomorrow for pictures!
It is also our oldest niece Serena’s 4th birthday today! We are having a little celebration tomorrow for her birthday so you can check out my Flickr page for those pictures. Hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!
I'm a nurse who married a farmer and I'm a boy mom of 3 to Braden, Ethan and Jonathan. I love blogging about family life, farming, recipes and embracing my role as farm wife and mom. I'm knee-deep in tractors, trains and trucks and I'm often seen with my camera in my hands catching life's moments.
NEW POST! Any other hedgie owners out there? I've shared what it's like having a pet hedgehog on the blog today. Sonic is 8 months old and we've had him for well over a month now. He's come a long way and we just love him so much! If you, or anyone you know, is considering getting a pet hedgehog, be sure to read this first and share! ... See MoreSee Less
Mamas, take time for yourself. I know there's a huge emphasis on "me time" and self care, but whatever it is that gives you a break---make the time for it.
Last night, I finally was able to get to my massage appointment after 2 rescheduled appointments that I just couldn't get to. It was so worth the wait, felt so wonderful, and I look forward to that time so much. I treated myself to a Starbucks and took my time getting groceries all by myself. I listened to my Podcasts and just had a simple, wonderful evening.
It was on my heart to share this again. This isn't just regarding pregnant women, but just don't comment on people's bodies. I don't know why people do, some just don't have a filter. My height (I'm >6 feet tall) gets commented on all the time. I don't care, I really don't, but people think it's okay to comment on this part of my body. I have someone I rarely see who always comments on how "thin" I am, and I know it's because they dislike it when people are overweight, and it makes me feel all icky.
You never know what battle someone is fighting, so just be kind---especially on social media! ... See MoreSee Less
This post is not meant to be full of sarcasm, humour or snark, this is serious business. As a nurse, working with at least 95% females in my profession, a lot of whom are in the child-bearing age as I am, I get asked about my children and the possibility of future children all the time. …
